In Roman mythology, Somnus is the personification of sleep, who resided in the underworld. According to Virgil, Somnus was the brother of Death. According to Ovid, Somnus had a 'thousand' sons called the Somnia ('dream shapes'), who appear in dreams 'mimicking many forms'. Ovid named three of the sons of Somnus: Morpheus, who appears in human guise, Icelos / Phobetor, who appears as beasts, and Phantasos, who appears as inanimate objects.
Kurt Wenner is an artist, inventor, and educator in the art-ed space. His expert geometry skills and classical drawing knowledge give him unique insights and abilities that enable his work to cross fluidly over all the visual arts. Kurt's expertise, innovation, and artistry have led to his work being sold in more than 30 countries. Kurt grew up in Santa Barbara, California, and attended both Rhode Island School of Design and Art Center in Pasadena.
