Pope John Paul II was canonised on 27 April 2014 (Divine Mercy Sunday). Posthumously, he has been referred to by some Catholics as "St. John Paul the Great".I was fortunate to be commissioned for a large work of art and met Pope John Paul II in Italy. His presences was extraordinary and I wanted to created a devotional image of this truly remarkable Pope. www.kurtwenner.com
